M ost of us spend life rushing from one thing to the next. We have zero idea of how to fit mindfulness in everyday life.
We're busy, we're under pressure from a variety of sources, and we never feel like there's enough time to stop and smell the roses. We're wondering whether the rose perfume is available in a take-out package besides the place where we get to-go coffees each morning.
Well, sadly, it's not.
We may, however, find time to pause if we make a real effort.
To help you, we've compiled a list of mindfulness practices that have shown to be beneficial in the quest to become more mindful everyday.
Instill Gratitude
When one practices thankfulness, we must concentrate our attention on all that is good in our life right now. It gradually brings the positive aspects of our lives to the foreground rather than the background of our mind.
This allows us to more readily return to the present moment rather than worrying about what's next or reliving the past. We can become more open to creating a more pleasant future when we concentrate on the good.
Practice the Art of Centering
One of the most beneficial exercises is the Centering Exercise, which is a quick 30 second technique which helps you connect with your body as well as the present by centering. There's many videos available on Youtube that will walk you through the exercises step by step.
It's a fantastic activity for entrepreneurs, executives, leaders, working mothers and most of all, regular people like you and I who just need a moment!
Awaken All Five of Your Senses
Bringing your mind to what is happening in the present is the easiest way to be attentive and mindful. For a minute, put down what you're doing and notice what's happening around you.
What are the sounds you're hearing? What odors do you detect? What is it others in your surroundings are up to?
Put your whole focus on where you are, whatever it is that you're doing, and examine it via your 5 senses to practice returning your mind to where it belongs(i.e. the present).
Spend Time in Nature
Another technique to acquire mindfulness is to spend some time outside, and one doesn't have to go off to a far-flung retreat to achieve that. You just need to go for a stroll around the neighborhood.
If there are some beautiful parks, lush trails, or green areas nearby, they might provide the ideal setting for reconnecting with nature as well as the present moment. Take note of everything you see, how pleasant the weather seems, what you can hear, as well as the smells while you walk.
Feel Your Emotions
You wouldn't want to ignore your emotions while practicing mindfulness. Being in the current moment, precisely as it is, is a big part of it. This may include emotions of delight at times, but you should avoid forcing joyful thoughts or resisting any specific emotional reaction.

Participate in Any Physical Activity That You Like
It's easy to be attentive when we're doing stuff we like that takes both our body and mind focus. Surfing, football, basketball, and cycling are just a few examples.
If you end up losing your focus while participating in these pursuits, you risk missing a goal or even being tossed about by a crashing wave. You may spend time entirely involved in activities you like, that can train you how to take that attention into other parts of the life as well.
Eating With Mindfulness
When we are eating, we concentrate on the current moment. It's hard to escape when there's good food in your mouth. We don't pay regard to this experience most of the time anymore because we're dining at our desks, streaming YouTube, or reading as we eat.
However, research proves that eating mindfully can lead to more effective digestion. Allowing us to absorb more minerals and vitamins and improving overall gut health.
We may discover greater pleasure, joy, and significance in life by practicing mindful living. Being attentive, however, is not as simple as it seems. It can be a series of habits that you must cultivate and for that knowing how to fit mindfulness in everyday life is essential.
