Y ou may be wondering how to make the best summer snack for kids that are still tasty and nutritious. Studies show that parental control over snacking affects a child's intake of healthy foods. Recently, there is more attention being paid to healthy alternatives for store-bought snacks.

But do not worry! You can make easy, simple, and fun snacks for your kids that will still be healthy. Prepare these fun snacks for your kids this summer and keep them energised and satisfied in this scorching heat.

1. Frozen Grapes

Starting with the easiest snack we have frozen grapes. Simply wash some green or red grapes and lay them on a tray. Make sure to get seedless grapes if you make this snack for a toddler. Pop the tray in the freezer and after a few hours, you will have the tastiest cold snack for a summer day.

Toss them into a ziplock bag or a container and you will have the perfect on-the-go snack for your child.

2. Fruit Popsicles

Use a popsicle mould to create fun and vibrant healthy popsicles for kids. Slice up some fruits like strawberries, oranges, or mangoes and place them in the mould. Then fill them up with coconut water or fruit juice. Leave these in the freezer for a few hours and you will have adorable homemade popsicles.

There is no need to worry if you do not have a popsicle mould. You can always use sticks with paper cups or large ice trays for this cool little treat. These are great for long, hot summer days.

3. Banana Ice Cream

Make some healthy ice cream for kids with only 3 ingredients. Blend some frozen banana slices with peanut butter. Add in some yogurt or milk to help it blend and to get the consistency you would like. You can directly serve this or leave the mixture in the freezer for a couple of hours to get a real ice cream to feel.

You can add some chocolate chips or shavings to the top and serve them up. You can also add some honey or chocolate sauce to make it even tastier.

4. Veggie Platter

Chop up some veggies like carrots, cucumbers, and peppers into long slices. If you are feeling extra creative you can use mini cookie cutters or veggie cutters to make the vegetables look more fun and appetising to kids. Store these in zip lock bags in the fridge and serve them up whenever your little one gets the munchies. Humus is a great dipping sauce for this snack!

This option is great if you do not have time to prepare a new snack for your kids every day. You can always plate them in new interesting ways like in little plastic cups or by making fun shapes like a flower or star arrangement.

5. Smoothie Pops

This is the best option for you if you often make morning smoothies for yourself. Just prepare some extra smoothie mix and put it into a mould with sticks. Place them in the freezer and pop them out whenever your child needs a cool snack.

Just skip the extra protein powder or pre-workout if you use this smoothie mix for your kids. You can even opt to simply give your child a mini smoothie in a smaller jar.

6. Fro-yo Bark

First, line a large tray with baking paper. Then, spread out some frozen yogurt on the baking paper and add coconut, fruits, or chocolate chips as toppings. Place this in the freezer until it is brittle and chewy. Then cut it into snack-sized slices for your kids.

This snack is really fun and gives your kid a new texture for a fro-yo snack. It is also easy to store and prepare.

7. Yogurt Tubes

Fill up some popsicle pouches with a mix of plain and flavoured yogurt. Add in some mashed fruit like mango, strawberry, or banana and place them in the freezer until completely frozen.

This makes a creamy and filling snack for kids that is perfect to battle the heat. Just hand them a tube and let them enjoy its cool, healthy goodness.

Finally

And there we have it, the best summer snacks for kids that only take a small amount of time to prepare and are super tasty and healthy. The heat of summer will not get your kids down if they consume these nutritious and refreshing snacks. Keep snacking enjoyable, cool, and simple this summer.
